The Gulf Coast Reporters' League was established in 2011 by the then five-year-old Tortorano Commissioned Publications and three current and former journalists as a cooperative research venture. Its initial goal was to provide research on aerospace activities along the Gulf Coast Interstate 10 region between New Orleans and Panama City, Fla.
The League published its first annual aerospace book in June 2011 and its most recent in June 2015. It published its first aerospace newsletter quarterly in 2013, then added to its list of associates and shifted to a bimonthly publication schedule in 2014.
The League increased the number of associates to nearly two dozen experienced journalists in 2015 in order to launch a magazine covering business activities in the metropolitan areas along the I-10 corridor between Baton Rouge, La., and Tallahassee, Fla. The first edition of the advertiser-supported Business Quarterly is scheduled to be published Jan. 5, 2016.
