Kickstarter campaign launched

This is the first of what will now be a weekly update that will be posted every Saturday or Sunday to keep you up to date on our publications.

But first, this little promotional. As you know, the Gulf Coast Reporters' League Business Quarterly published its inaugural issue Jan. 5, and the feedback has been very positive. One newspaper asked for permission to reprint some of our stories, and they've used two so far. You're also aware that the magazine is free to readers, and we intend to keep it that way.

But for the April issue we decided to try a one-time, 30-day Kickstarter campaign to help us out in our formative period. We're a brand new magazine, and it takes time to get traction. We're hoping we get hundreds of names that we can list on a full-page house ad as a way of showing there's a lot of support for a product of this type.

Imagine what it would say about the Gulf Coast region if we get a lot of individuals or businesses that kick in $1, $10, $20 or more. The more names we have on the page, the happier we'll be. And if we don't reach our modest goal, we don't collect any money and won't have the page. But we'll still have the magazine. Many of our stories have already been turned in, and we will publish April 5.

If you're interested in showing your support, please take a look at our Kickstarter campaign page for all the details. You can find it at:
And if you decide it's not for you, that's fine. We still want you to continue reading our magazine. We plan to be here for the long run. Thank you. - David Tortorano, editor
